LAYETTE |
Once you have your baby and get into the swing of cloth diapering,
you will be the best judge of what works for you and how many diapers
you'll need. Before that point, these are the general amounts of cloth
diapers and supplies you will need to start (based on doing wash every
2-3 days): |
Newborn Prefold Layette |
3 dozen prefold diapers |
5-7 diaper wraps |
2-4 doublers/liners (for nighttime dryness) |
Newborn AIO Layette |
3 dozen AIO diapers |
2-4 doublers/liners (for nighttime dryness) |
Newborn Pocket Diaper Layette |
3 dozen pocket diapers |
3 dozen inserts |
plus 2-4 extra inserts
(for nighttime dryness) |
Infant to Toddler Diaper Layette |
2-2½ dozen diapers |
3-5 diaper wraps
(if not using AIO or pocket diapers) |
2-2½ dozen inserts
(if using pocket diapers) |
4-6 doublers/liners (for nighttime dryness) OR |
4-6 extra inserts
for nighttime (if using pocket diapers) |
ADDITIONAL
NECESSITIES |
| |
Your
layette may also include these items: |
1-2
dozen
cloth
wipes (1 dozen for older babies) |
| |
Cloth washcloths work very well as cloth wipes.
tea
tree & lavender oil wipes solution |
| |
Soak your wipes in a solution of tea tree and
lavender oils in an old baby wipes container. They clean
well, are anti-bacterial, and smell great! |
natural diaper ointment |
| |
Natural ointments won't coat the diaper and
interfere with absorbency. |
baby powder |
| |
Great
at drying off baby's bottom in the morning. |
nylon tote bags |
| |
For
storing dirty diapers in your diaper pail and on
outings and trips. |
Flushable Liners |
| |
Great
for babies eating solid food. Helps easily
shake poopie
into the potty. |
